5:20 BOOK: P 54 Box 1, Cross reference with wh-chart on board before each question. Read the box silently. Who can answer the first one? Etc.

Three why questions.

We’ll do this all together. Erase what you have. Don’t write until we agree on the answer. One at a time. How will the answers begin… Chorale: “They died out because…”
5:40 JOG JOG JOG Define jog. Pronounce. Stop between activities: pat your head, clap your hands, jump jump jump, touch your toes, sit sit sit. Do actions & pronounce J in jump and jog.
5:45 BOOK: P 54 Box 2 Expand: why/because
5:50 BOOK: P 54 Exercise 8 Do this together. Don’t write till you all agree on an answer.
6:00 BOOK: P 51 Exercise 2 Have they filled it in? Check.
6:05 Poster One question at a time. Anyone know the answer? Individual then chorale. Then find and paste it on the poster. Read answer.
6:20 Appearing picture Slowly reveal extinct animals Guess what they think it is. Name what they see.
6:30 BOOK: P 55 Exercise 9a Send them one by one to choose animal from poster.

Explain exercise. Review meanings of question words on board. Model first one.

Write questions quietly.
6:45 BOOK: P 55 Exercise 9b Have them write names of their classmates in the first column. One kid comes up with me and asks first question. Raise your hand if you know the answer. Rotate somehow.
7:00 Erase board? The question words Have them write them in their notebooks.
Round Robin Lupita’s game. Get her to explain. Videotape it. Use animals.
**** HOMEWORK Hand it out and explain. Hand out contracts at end to two who missed it. Give dinosaur pic to 2 missing Ss Ss who missed contracts: fill out and sign. Paste one in book and return other to me.
