The days since I submitted my SIT application have been oozing by like banana slugs on Quaaludes. Every day I check my e-mail a thousand times, but not a peep yet from the East. I don’t see why the staff can’t put all their other tasks on hold — like getting the summer session underway — until I’m taken care of. This wait is exceptionally hard. If accepted, I’d have to leave here in a bit over a month, the logistics of which are incomprehensible to me.
I Facebooked Karen today:
“Hey, so — as a teacher yourself, and knowing me as you do — do you think I’d make a decent teacher?”
This was her encouraging reply:
“A great one. You have to be spontaneous, creative, have a sense of humor, and appreciate the learning process. Now, the question is: adults or kids?”
